I wanted to take her cat for a walk on a leash.
She wanted me to go get her cookies and instead of asking me directly to do it, she hinted at it. Then she got mad that I didn’t pick up on the hint.
We fought about if fruit is a carb until it got so heated I had to cry in the bathroom.
I don’t take birth control anymore since transitioning from bisexuality to lesbianism in my mid-20s, but I still go to Planned Parenthood for my exams because I trust them not to stigmatize my sexual history and to be sensitive to the needs of a queer patient. But mostly, I don’t know what I would’ve done without them as a teenager, and I’m petrified to live in a world where girls like me won’t have those options.
This is part of why it’s so important to have trans people on your team when you’re making shows about trans people. Every time I think about the fact that it’s going to air tonight it gives me a knot in my stomach.
I think it’s true for a lot of our readers that Autostraddle was the only space where they could engage on whatever topic was being discussed with only other queer people, and talk to people about their stuff. I don’t think people ever max out on having conversations with other people who are like them. Everybody craves it and needs it, and we’ve been really honored to make a space for that.
I came out to my Dad on the driveway of my student house while waiting for the Landlady to show up with the keys thinking that this would get it out of the way and moving my stuff in would be a distraction. She was an hour late.
