What’s this? Oh just an interview with a stellar Queer artist freshly published on the most important Queer women’s website that there ever was. I found Lila nearly a year ago now, and when I started working with/for her I immediately thought how much I wanted to see her on Autostraddle; then I thought that thought repeatedly as the first A-Camp came round in April. I met Crystal, gave her a copy of Heart Machine, and the seed was planted. Crystal even invited me to write an artist highlight piece. Crystal has the expertise and the Straddler following, so I knew she should be the one to write Lila’s piece; but I wanted to seize the day and all, so I wrote the B.Steady Artist Highlight. Writing/submitting/revising that piece was such a learning enriching experience, and I’ll always be grateful for that opportunity. It’s my first published thing! Crystal told me she was assembling a new format for the music series and Lila’s turn was nigh’, and I knew it’d be worth the wait. Alas, it is here and published: the first installment of Almost Famous! So many thanks to Autostraddle, Crystal, and Lila.
