Why is it that only people with money get to not worry about their health? Life is expensive and just because some of us require more expenses doesn’t mean our lives aren’t equally valuable. Money shouldn’t matter when it comes to access quality healthcare, but it does. So why is it that because we don’t have the same opportunities and there are more obstacles placed in our way, we have to be punished?
Despite the serious themes and messages throughout the day, the Resist March still had the fun, happy, colorful energy characteristic of Pride as it was clear that our celebration of LGBTQ lives is the ultimate form of resistance.

That Orange Is the New Black‘s response to murdering a queer Black women is to try to drive home the point that no one’s really good and no one’s really evil and we’re all just human is really disheartening. We know white men are human; we are reminded every day in every way. It’s why it was so welcome watch a show that reminded us of the humanity of people who aren’t white men, and why it’s so demoralizing to lose that refuge.

Every season this show has kept its center but shifted and molded and grown and morphed into something entirely new, and The Final Trip is no different. In some ways it feels like something totally unexpected, in some ways it feels like exactly where we were going all along.
