Acknowledging that femme privilege exists doesn’t mean that it’s in operation for everyone. But when arguments about privilege are made in the abstract and claim absolutes, they preclude our ability to talk about how differently these things work for different people in the real world. If we can’t talk about the fact that some people may benefit from a system, it makes it harder to talk about how the same system hurts other people.
