Elicia Sanchez is a stand-up comedian, a comic book reader and practically an adult. Among so many other outstanding projects, Elicia runs an all female comedy show called Wine Shots: Comedy’s Happiest Hour. We’re wildly excited to have her as our special Talent at camp alongside Mal Blum & Hannah Hart!

- What are you most excited about in coming to A-Camp?
Elicia: This is my first time at camp so I’m just super stoked about all the possibilities of fun times and rad people I could meet! In fact, I haven’t been to a camp of any kind since the one I got kicked out of in high school for showing some people my boobs so I’m looking forward to being a better camper this time around. Plus, it’s such an amazing opportunity to be able to perform comedy in paradise amongst my peers! I fully feel like this could possibly change my life. Also, wearing shorts in a non-judgmental space is going to be AWESOME. - What’s your favorite thing that you’re packing?

HI STRADDLERS, So much to tell you all! Sorry for my absence as of late. I got a new job writing for Epicurious, which has been a dream. On top of that my girlfriend and I went to California for Coachella and stayed for a week after to do some road tripping and desert exploring, but more on that later!
First, let me tell you about this amazing dinner we had at the Young’s vegan pop up restaurant…
I think women’s studies saved my life, but I don’t know what that means. Maybe that I’m not good at anything else – that I failed at being normal, that I failed at falling into line, that I failed at being everyone else, that I’ll never talk to God. Maybe it means that the closest I will ever get to mightiness is uncovering everything that’s damaged me and smashing every surface standing in my way. Maybe it means nobody’s invented the right hero for me yet, or that I need to be a hero for someone else.
