I’m like everybody else: I have problems, I have concerns, and, mostly, I have complicated feelings on lesbian vampire movies.
The stories collected in Pedal Zombies do not share the same world, exactly. In one story, humans turn to zombies via exposure to an HIV-reminiscent virus known as ZH81. In another, automated cars are the ones turning into zombies after being “bitten” by other cars in minor traffic accidents. Still, there’s a common worldview tying these imagined worlds together, and it’s one I expect many readers of Autostraddle will feel intimately familiar with. At multiple points in my reading, I found myself drawing hearts in the margins or laughing out loud with sheer delight. The feminism reflected in these pages is myfeminism: intelligent, inclusive, and women-centered. There’s a heavy dose of lesbian feminist cultural influence throughout, and many stories contain queer lady characters and same-sex relationships. As I said: it’s delightful.

An herbal tincture is simply a liquid plant extract, usually made using water, alcohol, or both (though vinegar and glycerine are also sometimes used). During the process, the herb’s useful constituents dissolve in the liquid, and you are left with a strong extract which can be taken as medicine.
Tinctures are easy to take, either by the spoonful or by mixing into juice or water. They are fast-acting, as their liquid form means they are easily absorbed into the bloodstream. They are also easy to store and last for a long time! So, besides tea (because quite truthfully I don’t feel like a whole complete human being without a cuppa in my hand) tinctures are my favourite way to take herbs as medicine.

A+ Podcast Episode Seven: Ghosts!
Whenever I get wedding submissions and the couple does a first look, they always mention that it was hands-down, the best moment of their day. If you are going the traditional route and not seeing each other until your both fully ready (hair, makeup, dressed to the nines), it’s even more powerful. Since there aren’t a sea of eyes all on the couple, the pair is more likely to express their emotions. Who is going to break down crying in front of 150 guests if they can avoid it? If it’s just you and your spouse-to-be, it’s going to get raw. And beautiful. My favorite images are always those from the first look. They are so genuine, unfiltered and moving.
