Over the weekend, Dan Choi (recently discharged under Don’t Ask Don’t Tell) approached Senator Harry Reid with a letter reminding him of his obligations to gay and lesbian American soldiers and…
How do you go back to being best friends with someone after you were in a serious relationship with them?
my answer is: stop having sex.
but i feel like you want real advice, so i took this to Miss April, b/c she’s friends w/ apparently every girl she’s ever dated. here’s what she says:
“two solid months (or three depending on how long you were together) of not talking.
or emailing.
whatever brought you close in the relationship outside of sex will still be there. don’t think of it as a permanent break from your life, but you need time to heal.
and then when you think you would be ok with them telling you about someone they’re dating or sleeping with, you’re ready.”

How do you pronounce your name is it like ‘marilyn’ or should we put the stress on 'MARIE’ (MARIE-lyn)? also, where did the nickname riese come from? (And do we pronounce it like reese ie reese’s cups?)
i think i need an faq for this
jewish tradition is to name your kids after a dead relative
my mom’s mom, marilyn cohen, was a model, and she changed her name to marie lyn b/c that was better for modeling
so that’s who i was named after
people say “marie” or people say “riese”
never “marie lyn” – nobody calls me that.
mah-rie like mah-ree
my nickname has been “ree” or “ree-ree” (thanks mom) or “ris” (as my friends spelled it, but pronounced it “Reese”)
when i started writing, my agent suggested i come up with a spelling that made phonetic sense, ‘cause “Ris” looks like “Rhys”… thus… “Riese.”
