unless it’s a large feature that we all contribute to, then it actually is by everybody, though we usually make that clear in the post.
I hate that there have been those before me who have turned “Christian” into an ugly word. Of course it can sometimes be connected with very conservative, right wing, intolerant people, and that’s not the way Jesus was. So, that bums me out that Christianity is linked to such a negative feeling, because I honestly think if Jesus were alive today he probably wouldn’t be in churches. He’d be with the sick and the poor and the people who are outcasts and people who feel unloved and the people who are told that they are not “OK.” If I had to read in the Bible that “it’s a sin to be 4’11″ – what would I do? Ya know, I think you are who you are and I don’t think God makes mistakes. I’m hoping that there are a lot more Christians out there who believe like I do and won’t be afraid to say so.

Sharing a little house with six of my nearest and dearest (with thirteen more of my nearest and dearest staying closeby, constantly ambling into the yard and saying things like “Whatcha working on?” and “I just finished your book!”) has made me realize how much I like being alone. I like being around people too, as long as I can set the terms, and leave whenever I want. If only there was a way to be simultaneously alone and not-alone! Oh, right: being online.
aw, i forgot about this brilliant infographic we “made”/altered from AE’s original last may after our first Hot 100 (via Daily Fix 5.14.09)
But what the fuck? Where are the books from the guy who drinks half a handle of whiskey of an evening but still shows up on time at work the next morning and gets the job done?… It is all well and good that people who have “problems” have somehow been able to get the help they need and a platform from which to trumpet it, but, really, aren’t we basically celebrating failure here?… Basically, every book about a reformed addict is Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue but with more self-aware debasement at the beginning. Where is the recognition for the people who stick it out and deal with their problems the way that they’re supposed to: with drugs and booze?
