today my life was perfect.
we ate hummus and tabbouleh and falafel in the sun and there was no room in the truck for me but sarah made room anyway and told me i was a snail (i am). they climbed on rocks like real kids with real hearts and i loved them so much i thought i would crack open right there in the desert.
and we watched the sunset and talked about friends and the forest and how things are better in this way that we hadn’t known existed until it happened. we were grateful. eli was honest and slade was cool and alex was hilarious and sarah was right there.
i am more than okay. i loved it all.
