I just re-posted it on my formspring page with a more direct answer. My first response was fairly obtuse - i was just relating to the question-asker’s experience because I too was once in love with a girl who stripped. However someone interpreted it as a negative comment about people in the sex industry, which is definitely not what I intended. I have nothing but respect for people in the sex industry, I’ve been friends with many over the years and also I’m proud to work for an adamantly pro-sex feminist website which prides itself on NOT being “whoreaphobic” - and a few team members are actually current or former sex workers themselves. I’d never want anyone to think otherwise because i wrote three obtuse words.
