I’ve been filled with an evangelical zeal to preach the feminist gospel truth: women invented beer, we perfected it, and it is only due to organized patriarchal action that control of that enterprise was wrested from us in the Middle Ages! I’m ready to take back the heritage that is so rightfully ours, and one way I’m going to do that is by homebrewing my own goddamn beer. With my girlfriend. And her cat. Please join us.

I don’t need to tell you the deal with straight women and Target. It’s sacred. Target’s women’s hat section in particular is a fascinating look into the psyche of a straight woman. I love to browse that section like I’m in a museum and really investigate each piece. Hmm, so that’s the bill. Wonderful. I love culture!

I believe, that this problem could be solved much easier and much more quickly than our authorities try to convince us. This problem already seems to be endless, because people live in rough and inappropriate conditions for too long.

I like how this kid slams the authorities and acting government!

Even children can value people’s lives, unlike our government…

12/10/16, the US Congress finally passed a law funding replacing lead lines in Flint for at least 120 million. President Obama is expected to sign it today.

The water crisis in Flint began in April of 2014.

This week the state high court overruled an appeal to not follow a mandate for a lower court to deliver free water to all Flint residents.

It will take at least 2 years to replace all of the lead pipes in Flint.

This is your friendly reminder that trans exclusionary radical feminism hurts the movement and contributes to systemic transgender oppression and we are not about that.  😎😎😎😎😎😎

*Editors note: TERF stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism. Because we are made for and by queer and trans people, and because we want to end sexist and gendered oppression, we do not condone the exclusion of transgender, gender queer, or gender non-conforming people. If you find that your feminism polices transgender people, particularly trans women, find ways to invest in better feminism like reading some articles from Black Girl Dangerous, Autostraddle, or subscribing to next month’s QT Talk newsletter so you can remove that practice from your feminism and work towards a better liberation. *

all these articles about violence that mainly affects black trans women keep being published by mic/buzzfeed/autostraddle/etc but black trans women are rarely ever paid to write those articles and those sites don’t even push their analysis beyond what black trans women have already been telling all of us on social media, so what’s the fucking point.

autostraddle

those articles are breaking news, so they have to be written by somebody who is “in the office” when it occurs. usually that person is mey, our trans editor, who is latina and is paid to write those articles. mey would be the first one to tell you that we wish we had more black trans women writing for us regularly than we already do, and we are constantly working on that. however, if we had the kind of money that buzzfeed and mic have, there are two black trans women i can think of just off the top of my head we’d hire in a fucking HEARTBEAT — but unfortunately they can’t commit to writing for us on a regular basis for what we’re able to pay.

we’re a reader-supported indie, not a venture-capital-rich corporation, so our capabilities are limited. look: it’s fine to take us to task for this kind of stuff, but not in the same breath as buzzfeed and mic, okay? ALSO, we’re a website for women who like women, which means straight trans women wouldn’t be in our pool of potential writers, unlike buzzfeed and mic. so they have a bigger pool of writers to choose from AND more money to pay them.

i will say though! that if you want a black trans woman taking the analysis a step further, i REALLY recommend this piece: https://www.autostraddle.com/pay-us-some-mind-on-the-tragic-humanity-of-black-trans-women-278402/
