hi! i’m sorry it took me so long to respond to this, my dearest and most cherished rachel. i think it can still be a thing. they def have ‘em for sale on ebay and such, and i’ve bought new phones before my upgrade was due that way. the thing is, my phones were on at&t which uses GSM and not CDMA technology, like verizon does. with gsm carriers like at&t and t-mobile, you just pop out a SIM card and it’s pretty simple. verizon and sprint don’t have SIM cards, so i guess that requires coordinating more with your carrier. so what i’m saying is, yes, i’m super cute, but you will probably need to ask verizon what they need to do if you go through w/that to activate a new phone.
i presently have 1,005 questions in my inbox and can only answer so many questions a day. i’m sorry yours hasn’t been answered, i really wish i had more time to answer everything. i don’t really know how else to do this besides to shut it down entirely.

also for friends outside the US: get spotify already! it’s the best thing ever.
i didn’t know how much better spotify could be than grooveshark either, and then i tried it. the interface is gorgeous, smooth, and packed full of everything you ever wanted. you can make instant playlists based off of albums (which is more amazing than it sounds, even), it’s hella fast and has great social plugins. sigh.
WANT. i played w/it at CES in Las Vegas this year and it was dead sexy. i generally have an insatiable desire for any android phone with a screen 4" or larger. it’s weird.
i have the Evo 4G on Sprint. while i never use 4G because it absolutely destroys my battery life, it’s nice to know it’s there.
i am not very good at “routines” in general, basically i just have this notebook (http://www.autostraddle.com/rachels-team-pick-this-notebook-81260/) and i make sure it is with me all all all the time and anytime i have a feeling and am like OH GOD WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS FEELING i tell myself to calm down, it’s ok, you can put it in this notebook. some things are pages long, and some pages are just sentences. for instance, on 1/19, i wrote “the feeling of being stuffed with straw” and also “escape plan.” i don’t know. try it out. let me know how it goes.

fun fact about me that you may not know: i am a HUGE BITCH about being hit on by straight men, like i frequently embarrass my friends when we are out together, and once when i had had an inadvisable amount of tequila my friend had to like intervene and apologize and talk this guy down so he wouldn’t ruin our night. so i am not the best person to ask. but i recognize that a) this is not actually helpful, like it will not really make your night any better, and b) it is not super healthy, in that when you have a choice in life between rage and letting it go you will probably feel best in the long run with what’s behind door 2.

i do think that many cis-lesbians would be more than willing to date a pre-op transgirl, abso-fucking-lutely. i mean there are SOOOOO many other, much more important factors that go into whether you’re compatible with / attracted to a person. like how for a lot of lesbians whether you’re ‘butch’ or 'femme’ is all that matters but then a lot of lesbians hate those words. we’re all special snowflakes. so i can’t speak for all lesbians, but i think when it works with someone, it works. and that’s that.
also – does the girl you’re talking about know that you like girls? everyone is always asking us 'how can i tell if this girl is gay’ etc etc so apparently most lesbians are in a constant hot panic around whether or not the girl they like also likes girls. so maybe drop some hints, like 'omg, do you read autostraddle, i LUV it’
