wow! really? would people get annoyed with us and be like SHUT UP ALREADY. i don’t know. i don’t know what to do. i wish i could hug everybody. someone who wrote us an email about doing marketing for us (laneia and i are going to go over all of them later this week) said:

“Since I know you guys on the creative side have a love/hate/undefined/reluctant relationship with money - you must by all accounts muster all courage inside of you and IDENTIFY HOW MUCH YOU REALLY NEED ON A MONTHLY BASIS (also there is backlog - things you owe, this also matters).”

which seems relavant.

i’ve read the stuff you’ve said about paying for writing and i get it. but the problem is, there’s SO MUCH on the internet and i can’t afford to pay for all of it. i picked a few favorites, but it’s a fraction of what i use. how can it really work?

every good magazine has a lot of both kinds of readers
