doing the best you can is always good enough. later, the best you can do will be something different – maybe it will be going to see a therapist or a support group, which is one way of learning how to live. saving your life is not nothing. saving your own life is everything. it’s okay to keep doing that until you know that it’s time to take whatever the next step is. you’re doing exactly what you should be. be brave. this won’t last forever.

i understand that you think you’re bad at something, but you really only think that. you have to stop thinking. that’s how you initiate something sexy: you just stop thinking.

whatever sexy thing you want to do, you should just start doing it. this could come off as either cocky or confident, and that’s a fine line, so see if you can straddle it.

Who has been your favorite interviewee? Who has been nicest in real life?

Toni Collette was probably the most famous person I interviewed who turned out to be the coolest / down-to-earth. Jill & Cathy will always be my favorites because I truly admired them from afar before I interviewed them and they’ve become very close friends over the years since that fateful day in 2009 on the Sweet cruise.
