See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I know you probably get this question a lot Riese, but my girlfriend cheated on me and it was agreed upon in the beginning of the relationship that we would be monogamous…am I wrong in feeling wronged?

um, what!??! of course not! you were in a monogamous relationship and she cheated on you, she fucked up, you can yell at her for ~26 hrs and still be right. someone cheated on me many moons ago and i threw a computer at him, so. whatever negative feeling you’ve acquired from this experience is completely acceptable.

Ask Riese a brand new thing

How much weight have you lost since you started running (if its not too personal)? Is it really exhausting to run and have a job and a life?

I’ve lost 10 lbs since I started running and lifting weights hard core. I’m really petite (literally 5 feet) so it’s dramatic on someone my size… I also jump rope in between weight lifting sets after my run, so there’s no real “rest.” You gotta do everything high intensity with no rest, that’s the secret. The only “rest” in my workout are the interval runs where I run for a few minutes and then literally hop on the sides of the treadmill for a minute… and then go right back at it… and repeat that for 20-30 minutes at a FAST run (not jogging). I really do a lot of different things so it’s hard to attribute a body changing due to running… I jump rope, do tons of plyometrics (ie: sets of jumping on a box holding 12lbs), stair sprints, spinning when I don’t wanna run etc… You don’t need to run for miles and miles…a 20 minute interval run 3-4x a week will make a huge difference. also, make sure you do cardio + weights each time you work out. i had been separating my days for YEARS and it was not helping my progress. also, you can learn tons of body weight strength+cardio stuff at www.bodyrock.tv . it’s my fucking bible.

To answer your other question… it’s not so much the running specifically that’s exhausting it’s the finding the uninterrupted hour to hour and a half 5-6 times a week that can be difficult. I’ve basically made it my #1 priority above all other things so sometimes I’ll go to the gym before work if I have plans at night, or i’ll go on my lunch break (i’m lucky enough that there is a gym where I work since I work at a university in the city)… Feel free to email me with any questions jess at autostraddle.com.. i’d be happy to talk to you. :)
