omg i keep getting pulled back in. :-)
i wanted to do a web series, i brought it up with ashley and sarah, and they were into it. ashley is an amazing writer (wait’ll you see her movies…WOW), sarah an actress and editor and production chick, and me an actress and producer…so we came together to write it and produced it together and brought on some other amazing people to help, and voila!

haviland! hi! (HUGE fan of the vlogs) um. i always let fear get in the way of loving, or let thinking get in the way of feeling. i want to love, i want to feel, i want to be free and just do, but i’m not quite sure how. help? advice?

get some perspective. read stevebeckow.com . look at art. talk to people. do different things. and then look at yourself and say, “hello gorgeous!!!”

Haviland. Sorry if you’ve already answered this question. What Jane Lynch said about out actors staying closeted (essentially “ya gotta do what ya gotta do”) - do you think it was valid? Or do you think it’s a generational thing?

coming out is really personal, and when you live a big part of your life in public, you have to figure out how to protect your vulnerability. Everyone is different and handles it differently. Not sure, but I think Jane meant she didn’t judge people for staying in, because everyone has different things they’re dealing with. I do believe, however, that because of the outstanding work of generations before us, it’s gotten way easier, and it’s getting moreso.

What was coming out like for you? How old were you? Etc.

i was basically 18 when i came out, had my first gf, etc. But i knew before then, and was very confused and even more than confused, scared of the stigma i felt was attached. i didn’t want people to view me differently or think i was telling them something really personal by saying i liked girls. its not that i wanted to “be normal” - i just wanted to do my thing and have the focus be on my work and my compassion and not which gender i felt more into. so yeah, it was actually not hard in terms of others making it hard…it was more emotionally hard - it was about me letting go and just being who i was and loving that girl!
