Nothing ever needs to have fabric all over the place. You can always wear dress pants, a nice shirt and a belt. This is a thing everyone can do.
Shoes are preferable too.

re: V-necks. I can’t seem to find any white ones that aren’t totally see-through (American Apparel, various 3-packs, etc). Any brands you recommend?
I buy mine from the Gap.
They usually end up going on sale for like $6.
Sometimes I get crazy and buy them from Banana Republic.
