riiiese, my gf is becoming really needy. she either wants me with her or on the phone or on bbm, i’m trying to explain how i can’t always do that but she’s starting to think i dont love her :(

i think people push you as far as you let them

does she think that’s how people show love to each other? for real?
by constantly talking to each other all the time?
no! and she knows that. she just feels insecure for some reason.
ask her what it is about you being separate from her that makes her panic
what does she think you’re doing when you’re not talking to her?
what does she imagine herself doing when you can’t talk to her?

my junior year of boarding school, my best friend and i we were so obsessed with each other
that we designed our schedules second semester to be in as many classes together as possible or else in the same rotunda so we could see each other between classes. he was a boy, so we didn’t stay in the same dorm, but every other waking minute we spent together. by the time we got to dinner — our third meal together of the day — we had nothing left to say to each other! we had nothing to report!

relationships aren’t about two heads meshing into one body. that’s unhealthy and ultimately unsustainable. the best thing you can bring to the table is your strength and independence, your capability to be apart, and your decision to be together. you can sit there at the table with your little heads full of ideas and feelings. then see what happens when you touch.
