any particular reason you all changed it from ‘last 10 comments’ to ‘last 5 comments’ on the AS homepage? for awhile it had been showing up as ‘last 10 comments’ but only loading 5 comments, until like yesterday
yes, there is a reason! i like “last 10 comments” better, too, but alas I cannot have everything I want. our theme was built in 2010, when we were smaller and had less needs. since then we’ve sort of just tacked things onto the theme as we’ve grown, and ultimately what this has led to is huge bandwidth overages for us — as the site pulls information from many different sources — and slower load time for you and more 503 errors. we sort of have to rebuild the website or something so that it will work. anyhow, i guess one of the ways they said we could save on bandwidth for the time being was to change it from last 10 to last 5, and change the number of posts that appear on the front page. so that’s what’s going on there.
